Podcast, Anyone?

Well, when a therapist asked me what I wanted to accomplish in my seventy-seventh year, I rattled off a list of what many senior women might include: balance (mentally and physically); good health; fulfillment; continued supportive, loving relationships with family and friends and, for me, a desire to take my "show" on the road again, to be more public.

"Like what?" my therapist asked.

"Oh, I'm not sure," I said. "Maybe write another book or pen a prize-winning short story."

And here I paused. Who was I kidding? I don't have it in me at the moment to write another book. And a prize-winning piece of creative fiction? A lofty goal but . . .

"A podcast," I said. "I'd like to host a podcast."

My therapist screamed, "OMG! That's exactly what I was thinking. You'd be perfect!"

Perfect? That's a high bar. But good, interesting. That's a bar I think I can meet.

So, here's the deal: it takes time and a lot of thought, technical knowledge, and guest resources to launch a podcast. But I'm up for the challenge. Because you are a subscriber who, hopefully, reads my posts all the time or some of the time or even not at all, you are my core audience. It is your "take" that I trust.

Help me out, please. I have a headache from brainstorming potential titles for the podcast when it premiers. I'd sure appreciate your feedback. Do you like any of the following? If so, which ones? Do you have a suggestion for a title not on the list?

For those of you who know me personally, seeing me won't be anything new. But for those of you I've never met in person--you are in the majority--it should be fun to see me in full regalia gesticulating, laughing, and hosting interviews with interesting older women who will have much to say.

Here is a preliminary list starting with the current name of the blog:

  • Seventynme: Women Getting Older & Wiser

  • Bring It On! Older Women Tell It Like It Is

  • The Joys (and woes) of Being An Older Woman

  • Gray or Dyed: It's All Good

  • Feisty, Fierce & Funny: Women 50+

  • Don't Count Us Out: We Older Women Have A Lot to Say

  • Mother F---- In Charge: Older Women Who Know the Deal

  • Plenty of Time: Women Getting Older & Wiser

Okay, that's as much as my brain can handle. Is there a title that jumps out as THE ONE? Or can you list your top two or three? Do use the COMMENT space on this blog and send me your thoughts. They mean a lot!

Happy Trails,

Jane
